Important questions about Joshua-Judges rarely discussed in church classrooms become the nucleus of a thorough understanding of these two exciting books. Was the conquest a great military victory as described in Joshua or a tribal uprising as it appears in Judges? What was the role of important women leaders such as Deborah? Did God call for all the violence or does the Joshua-Judges saga have anything to say about the modern middle east, about the rise of Christian, Islamic, and Jewish fundamentalists in our time, and about the God of our New Testament faith. Excellent.
