Charlie CouttsCharlie served in the U.S. Navy. After he was discharged he went to work for NCR (National Cash Register Co.) and worked for them for just short of 39 years as a Field Engineer. Charlie worked on Banking Systems, Grocery Store Scanning Systems, and others made by N.C.R. He also worked on all Wal-Mart’s Systems and most all that equipment was made by I.B.M. Charlie had the responsibility of repairing the equipment and also finding out what went wrong when things didn't balance, checking accounts that were wrong, inventory that was wrong, etc. He retired from N.C.R in 2005.

Charlie has owned his own business since 1980 and has set up his own bookkeeping system. He has set up income, expense, general, mileage, inventory, and other ledgers. Since 1972 Charlie has worked with Glacier Park Inc. working on their retail systems. Part of his work includes repairing their equipment and working with their comptroller in setting up and programming their surcharge tax programs and Canadian discount programs.

Currently Charlie is serving on the Board of Directors at Intermountain (Children’s Home) in Helena, MT where he is a member of the Monitoring Committee.

Charlie had been financial secretary for an independent church keeping track of individuals giving statements, deposits, and the church’s books. He has also been church treasurer at First Presbyterian Church in Havre doing payroll, paying the bills, reconciling bank statements and other duties that go with that position. Charlie is an Elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank. He has had the privilege of serving as an elder commissioner to the Presbytery of Glacier.
