Macedonian Ministry

Glacier Presbytery’s Macedonian Ministry (MM) project has started! We are delighted with the participation of so many of our churches’ pastors and anticipate that this will be an exciting, educational and enriching opportunity for our presbytery.

This two-year project includes five two-day retreats each year for the pastors of our presbytery. These retreats will focus on book studies with Eugene Peterson, spiritual development, congregational revitalization and numerical growth, developing climate of teamwork among the pastors and churches of the presbytery and creating a presbytery-wide outreach ministry. In addition to the retreats, the MM pastors will take a 14-day pilgrimage to the Holy Lands in January of 2012.

Macedonian Ministry Update

The Glacier Presbytery pastors who are participating in the Macedonian Ministry project attended their third retreat on June 13 & 14, 2011 in Missoula. During this time the pastors studied with Eugene Peterson, using his book, Five Smooth Stones as the basis for their discussion. They shared their stories of the first time each felt the presence of church in their lives, and discussed examples of best-practices to take home to their congregations and narrowed down a list of possible common mission projects. Worship and prayer were the central features of the retreat, with opening and closing worship and focused times of prayer.

The Macedonian Ministry project is funded by a grant from the CF Foundation in Atlanta Georgia. This two-year project includes five two-day retreats each year. These retreats will focus on book studies with Eugene Peterson, spiritual development, congregational revitalization and numerical growth, developing climate of teamwork within the presbytery and creating a presbytery-wide outreach ministry. In addition to the retreats, the MM pastors will take a 14-day pilgrimage to the Holy Lands next January.
